Wilde & Romantic was established in January 2015 after I spent a year collecting vintage china and props for my daughter Katy’s wedding in June 2014.  I had so much fun collecting everything that it was difficult to part with it, so the idea for Wilde & Romantic was born.

Since then our stock has increased considerably and we have moved from having it stored in the garage, a friend’s spare room and her polytunnel, to having a large business unit and a storage container. The business is still a one woman band, but extra help is taken on for large weddings and events and at busy times.  I have a First Class Honours degree in Contemporary Applied Arts (Printed and Embroidered Textiles), having graduated in 2012, and an administrative background, so I am well qualified to bring an artistic and organised approach to any event.

Our stock includes beautiful vintage mis-matched crockery, teapots, milk jugs, sugar bowls, dishes and cake stands – all you need for a typically English Afternoon Tea.

We also have vintage glassware – Babycham glasses, champagne saucers, wine and water glasses and water jugs – as well vintage cutlery to complement the china.

Our eclectic range of vintage and quirky props can further enhance your special day … from shabby chic furniture, deck chairs, stepladders, suitcases and trunks to Bakelite telephones, gramophones, crystal decanters and picnic hampers … and more.

We have a variety of packages for vintage china and prop hire and they can be adapted to suit your requirements.

All our listed stock is available on a ‘Hire Only’ basis for a DIY wedding.  DIY is great if you have lots of helpers organised for setting up, but having missed quite a lot of the pre-wedding preparations at my daughter’s wedding, and very little sleep,  I now know how time consuming a DIY wedding can be.  I spent most of my time laying out china, putting up balloons and organising long-suffering friends to arrange flowers!  It is tempting to try to do it all yourself to save money, as we did, but never under-estimate the time it will take.

If you are not the DIY type and don’t want the stress, our ‘A Helping Hand’ option is for you.  We will set up and style the items that  you have hired from us.  This is charged at £15 per hour for one person plus £10 per hour for a second person, if required.  Some packages include the cost of setting up in their price, so the time taken to set these up will not be included in chargeable hours.

If you have some ideas, but have no idea how to put them into action, we can offer you our ‘Wilde Style’ styling package.  We will create a beautiful and unique vintage wedding, which will be set up and styled for you so that you can relax and enjoy your day.  This costs £100 plus the cost of the hire items and is charged at £25 per hour, plus £10 per hour for a second person.  A second person will be employed if large pieces of furniture or two vans are required.  This package gives free access to my personal collection of vintage ornaments, jewellery and accessories not listed in my hire catalogue as well as the hand crafting or sourcing of any special extras.

Whatever your choice, please get in touch as we love to hear about your plans!

Best wishes
