How it all began...
Wilde & Romantic was established in January 2015 after I spent a year collecting vintage china and props for my daughter Katy’s wedding. Katy had a marquee for her wedding reception and it was filled with lots of vintage loveliness and guests enjoyed Afternoon Tea on beautiful vintage china, with vintage cutlery and glassware. I had so much fun collecting everything that it was difficult to part with it. I didn’t want to sell it or just store it away, so I began thinking of how I could put this collection to use and so the idea for Wilde & Romantic was born.
In May 2017 my youngest daughter, Sally, got married and so, for months before I was off on the hunt again, looking for pink and white and gold vintage china plates and tea cups and buying fabric for making lots of bunting to hang around the marquee.
I am very creative and organised and was awarded a First Class Honours degree in Contemporary Applied Arts (graduating in 2012). I have a background in administration and an eager eye for detail. I also have a Distinction in City and Guilds Floristry Level 2.
In 2018 my business was voted Wedding Venue Stylist of the Year for the North West Region of The Wedding Industry Awards.
My showroom, in the lovely village of Threlkeld Quarry, near Keswick, is a treasure trove of fantastic props and couples love to come and explore and get inspiration for their wedding.
